(The Original Kedar-Rite of the Karaim)
WHAT IS KARAISM ?
Karaism is the religion of Abraham and means the readers of the scriptures. This initially referred to the Scriptures of Abraham and was later extended to include the Torah of Moses, the Psalms(Zubair) of David, the Injeel of Jesus and most recently the Holy Koran of the Prophet Muhammad. The followers of Karaism are known as Karaites or the Qurra.
The Koran is the final progression of Karaism. In fact the name Koran refers to the Book of the Karaites(Qurra). It was through the miracle of Karaism that the Prophet Muhammad received the revelation of the Koran. The revelation of the Koran was revealed by the Holy Spirit. It was in accordance with this divinely mandated miracle that the Angel Gabriel placed upon the Prophet Muhammad the command to read (Kara).
This command was repeated 3 times " Kara, Kara, Kara ", it was upon the third command that the seal was lifted and the Prophet Muhammad who was known to be illiterate(Ummi) was able to receive the miracle of Karaism and the miraculous revelation of the Holy Koran.
Although Karaism recognizes the Koran as being authoritative we diligently search through all other scriptures and that which is compelling and relevant outside of the Koran in pursuit of truth. In this regard the Bible describes the Karaites in the manner of the Bereans.
Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true.
